MET
Laboratories and BSI Management Systems have entered into
a cooperative agreement which will greatly expand each company’s
global testing, registration, and certification services.
The announcement was made September 6 at a special ceremony
held at MET Laboratories headquarters in Baltimore. Rob
Frier, MET President, and Sales VP Kevin Harbarger welcomed
a number of BSI dignitaries, including: Ronald D. Mathis,
CMS Sr. VP, Marketing and Sales; Anne Boyd, General Manager,
Product Certification and Testing; and Paul Brooks, Head
of Notified Body, Medical.
Under the agreement, MET customers will gain access to such
BSI services as its exclusive Kitemark for the British
consumer and business market, CE
marking for European certification,
auditing, and certification to management systems standards,
including ISO 9000. BSI customers in Europe will gain access
to MET’s services for U.S. and Canadian
product certification. BSI’s North American customers
will gain access to MET’s laboratories for product
safety testing, and Electromagnetic
Compatibility (EMC) testing services for medical, Information
Technology (IT), and telecommunications
equipment.
