MET tests to new DC Requirements of GR-1089-CORE, Issue 4, Section 10
ADDED: 3/16/2007 1:29:00 PM
GR-1089-CORE, Issue 4, has been adopted as of Jan. 2007. One of the
many new set of requirements from this NEBS series document is the found
in Section 10, Criteria for DC Power Port of Telecommunications Load
Equipment. Actually these tests are Objectives at this time, but they
will become requirements as of June 2007. This section adds transient
and noise tests to be applied or performed on the DC power input port of
equipment. Testing in this section incorporates the test criteria of
ANSI T1.315, Section 5. MET Labs performs all the DC input power
testing including minimum operating voltages, under and over voltage
transients and impulse transients, as well noise emissions and noise
immunity testing for equipment connected to local DC power systems.
Equipment classified as ˇ°Type 8ˇ± equipment (another new addition to
GR-1089) is required to under go this testing. Newly classified ˇ°Type
8ˇ± equipment generally includes any equipment installed within the CO, a
Remote Hut, or equipment connected and powered directly from a local DC
power system.
