MET streamlines and increases test capacity for GR771 and GR326 chemical immersion requirements for fiber optic cables and enclosures
ADDED: 2/6/2006 9:43:00 AM
MET Laboratories has successfully upgraded its chemical
immersion testing setup per GR 771 and GR 326 and increased
testing efficiency five fold. Fifteen enclosures can be
submitted simultaneously to the full range of chemical
immersion scenarios; emerged in separate baths of sulfuric
acid, sodium hydroxide, acidified salt water, IGPAL and
kerosene. After completing the chemical exposure phase,
all enclosures are subjected at the same time to compression
testing, impact testing and a simulated twenty foot water
head test.
Multiple fiber connector configurations can simultaneously
be put through the full rigors of GR326 ground water immersion
tests, increasing the overall efficiency of the testing
procedure.
