Important new SBC NEBS requirement

As of October 1, 2003, SBC requires testing to GR-1089 Issue 3 and the ANSI spec T1.319-2002 for fire spread (instead of the GR-63 fire spread test). As this is an SBC requirement only (SBC 76200 - Network Equipment Power, Grounding, Environmental, and Physical Design Requirements), companies selling to RBOCS, including SBC would need to test to BOTH the GR-63-CORE and the ANSI fire spread specs..
The two different approaches to fire spread testing do not overlap, require completely different fire propagation test methodology and would require:
1) Submitting two samples
2) Budgeting time and resources for two set of tests
